We are mostly running Hikvision DS-2CD2542FWD-IS and DS-2CD2555FWD-IS model cameras, both of which are having this issue.

They both look like compression issues, but I am having a difficult time testing since we have such low volume at our office due to COVID-19 (basically nobody is allowed in) and all of my sample footage is from unauthorized entry. Average Network usage is ~100MB/s received but about every 10 minutes it spikes to 3.5GB/s with no real explanation.įrom what I can tell, after we upgraded the Surveillance Station to 8.2.7-6222 all of our cameras have ghosting/dropped frame issues whenever motion is recorded. Resource Monitor is reporting very low Network, Disk, Volume, Memory, and CPU usage. From what I can tell we are no where near the write limit of the RAID array, and our network seems to be able to handle the traffic. I don't think there is a generic profile for my cameras (TRENDnet). I've changed one camera to "detection by camera" rather than SS to see what happens. And until the last failure, required manual intervention. Previously, all failures were random, although more often on one camera than the other. I had already checked and all software and drivers are up to date. I have sensitivity at 95, threshhold at 5, and "ignore short-lived motion" disabled. I'm afraid I couldn't find any log files, but there were no notifications. So I enabled it, set the schedule to permanent Motion Detection and disabled it again. Which made me think it could be something to do with Home Mode, but Home Mode is disabled.

I know it missed some activity it should have recorded. On the 19th, after I posted the question, One of the camera streams stopped recording some time after 07:14, and for the first time It restarted itself, without intervention, some time before 09:07 the following morning.
